There limitations on the size of Disk/Lun in Windows depending on the partition scheme used:
Max size for an MBR Disk: 2TB
Max size for a GPT Disk: 16 Exabytes
Note: GPT was first introduced in Win2003 SP1. If a Lun larger than 2TB is presented to Windows, you must use “Computer Management” to manually select “GPT” as the default partition scheme used by Windows is “MBR”. Failure to select “GPT” for the new disk will result in an MBR partition with a max of only 2TB and the remainder of the space unallocated.
