VMworld 2017 was full of opportunities to connect with customers and collaborate with partners, amid all the excitement of announcements and acquisitions. It was also an occasion for Tegile and Oracle to stand together in the spotlight to highlight some astounding performance.
At the show, Tegile announced a new Oracle Database 12c benchmark result of more than 8 million transactions per minute (TPM) using the HammerDB benchmarking tool with the trusted TPC-C workload. To put this in perspective, just prior to VMworld, one of our competitors announced their own HammerDB result of 2 million TPM (we love it when that happens).
Our leading performance was made possible, in part, by Tegile’s innovative IntelliFlash OS storage management software that powers our flash arrays. IntelliFlash OS is optimized to deliver high performance storage I/O across a wide range of application workloads while seamlessly managing data reduction and resilience. Additionally, the active/active controller architecture in our flash arrays enables concurrent deployment of two Oracle instances with both storage controllers. With Tegile’s high availability functionality, you don’t need to leave half your capability sitting idle waiting for a failure to occur.
This level of performance does not happen by accident. It is the result of Tegile’s close Oracle partnership, with dedicated engineering resources and joint business development to ensure that Tegile storage and Oracle environments work together seamlessly for our common customers.
Further evidence of our close partnership was on display with Oracle making multiple presentations in the Tegile booth about the features and benefits of Oracle Linux and Oracle VM.
Customers are taking notice. Here’s what one Oracle DBA said after visiting our booth:
“Tegile makes a very high performant flash product catering to mission-critical applications, especially Oracle Database. Impressive show by Oracle and Tegile teams to clearly articulate tips and tricks for deploying Oracle workloads with Tegile all-flash.”
VMworld also provided the ideal venue to debut our newest product line, the Tegile IntelliFlash N Series All-NVMe storage array. The N Series deploys advanced NVMe technology to provide high bandwidth and low latency storage on a multi-petabyte scale for Tier 0 applications.
