250% YoY Growth in Flash Systems Sales for Tegile in EMEA

Increase in overall sales and customer base

London, UK – 21 September 2016 – Tegile Systems, the leading provider of flash-driven storage arrays for databases, virtualised server and virtual desktop environments, today unveiled the results to 31st July, the end of the first half of its 2017 fiscal year. Among the main highlights is an unprecedented record in the number of new customers at 25% QoQ growth. Further results in EMEA alone include:

  • 250% Year on Year growth in Flash system sales
  • 90% conversion rate from Proof of Concept trials
  • 34% of our new customers are from public sector and not-for-profit organisations who predominantly bought hybrid units due to cost / performance optimisation
  • 25% QoQ growth during the 2017 fiscal year

In addition, Tegile has achieved the following worldwide growth figures:

  • 100% growth vs 2016 fiscal year in All Flash Array (AFA) sales as a share of total storage array shipments
  • 90% of existing customers increased their investment in Tegile by purchasing additional storage and/or renewing their support coverage
  • 20% of all new customers invested in arrays with flash controllers giving them the flexibility to add both flash and hybrid expansion shelves – a testament to Tegile’s flexibility in handling all workloads, multiple protocols for block and file storage and multiple communication interfaces.

Retention rates have also been high: during Tegile’s second financial quarter nearly half of all sales came from existing customers. This is a solid endorsement of the company’s products and services, of the fact that it delivers on its promises of simplifying storage management and reducing costs by consolidating workloads onto a single flash platform and the way it looks after its users through the Tegile IntelliCare systems and support programmes. Repeat sales in this period often far exceed the initial value of the deals.

“The flash storage market is very crowded and extremely competitive so to achieve such results is a testimony to the quality of our technology and of our support team and commitment to expanding our footprint in EMEA.” said Paul Silver, Vice President EMEA, Tegile. “Organisations such as Aer Lingus, Oxford University, Barnsley College, Saudi Petroleum and the Yellow Pages have chosen Tegile over the competition because when it comes to providing fast, reliable, affordable and future-proofed storage for all workloads, we stand out.”

Paul Savvides, Group IT Manager at Saudi Petroleum Overseas Limited, commented “The storage arrays are coping with everything we throw at them and we are getting a great return on investment with them. For example, we had a historical query that continually timed out with the previous storage solution. The Tegile boxes completed the query in 12 seconds which is fantastic. As a result of this we are working to push the boxes to the limit to see exactly what they are capable of.”

Brian Price, IT Architect at Aer Lingus, said “For Aer Lingus, there haven’t been any downsides. Tegile’s arrays offer storage that is rich with features to enhance data management. With the implementation of Tegile’s arrays, storage is no longer an issue at Aer Lingus. The deployment has given us more bang for our buck and allowed a lot more breathing space for our IT team.”

Mark Kendrick, IT Director, Barnsley College, shares the same enthusiasm about Tegile’s solutions: “As soon as the array went online, the deduplication software brought our VMware infrastructure up to 92 percent utilisation and log on times were reduced to 30 seconds. The complaints regarding performance issues all but ceased within a month of implementation.”
