Tegile Wins Infrastructure Innovation of the Year Award at Prestigious UK IT Industry Awards
London, UK – November 28, 2016 – Tegile Systems, the leading provider of flash-driven storage arrays for databases, virtualised server and virtual desktop environments, today announced its T3600 all-flash array has been named the winner of the Infrastructure Innovation of 2016 category in the UK IT awards by Computing Magazine and The Chartered Institute for IT (British Computer Society). Each award winner is voted by a panel of judges from BCS, Computing and IT industry professionals.
Tegile’s T3600 offers a minimum of 36TB of raw data storage that is expandable to 949TB of effective storage space and makes transitioning to a flash-centric data centre easy and affordable. The system features IntelliFlash, Tegile’s flash-optimised storage software architecture which combines both inline compression and deduplication with the ability to mix and match flash (SSDs) and disks under one single system and user interface. This combination delivers flash-driven storage at high capacities and fast speeds, making it ideal for big data analytics, virtualisation, database acceleration and online transactional processing.
Unlike other storage solutions that simply offer a silo-based approach for hard-disk based or solid-state disk arrays, the T3600 has distinctive features that allow businesses to future proof their IT infrastructure while giving flexibility to incorporate future innovations.
“It’s a real honour for us to be recognised for our ground-breaking technology and the overall innovation and commitment we aim to bring to our customers,” said Paul Silver, vice president EMEA, Tegile. “Our ability to offer storage solutions that maximize productivity by focusing on the requirements of different workloads is now accepted across the industry, with organisations such as Aer Lingus, Barnsley College and Saudi Petroleum running our technology to keep their competitive advantage.”
The award is just one of many that Tegile has won in the last 12 months. Other accolades include the Best New Product of the year award, bronze, for IntelliFlash HD, a showcase on CRN’s list of emerging storage vendors for the fifth year in a row and Storage Company of the Year award for the second time.
Paul Fletcher, Group Chief Executive Officer of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT said: “Congratulations to all the winners and those who were highly commended in the UK IT Industry 2016 Awards. BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT is here to make IT good for society and the Awards are a major part of this. They recognise the highest levels of professionalism and innovation in the IT sector. The standard of applications we received this year were very high, but the winners stood out as exceptional and inspiring, and should be very proud of their success.”
Stuart Sumner, Editor of Computing Magazine, added: “Very well done to the winners and those who were highly commended on their achievements. The UK IT Industry Awards are rigorously judged and truly celebrate excellence and innovation in IT today. To win a category at the industry’s most competitive and popular awards is a real accomplishment, and everyone involved should feel extremely proud.”
The fact that the T3600 was recognised as the infrastructure innovation of year is a significant mark of Tegile’s achievements, even more so given that the T4000 range of arrays was just recently launched on November 17. Tegile promises to deliver even better results with this new and improved product, giving access to new and existing customers to the IntelliCare™ Operations Center, a cloud-based management portal.
